eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) has embarked on a new personalization strategy to collect information from users and make changes to its algorithms. The e-commerce giant is seeking personal preferences of the users. The company will utilize the collected details to provide what the user wants and increase sales.

The experts at RetailWire BrainTrust has termed the latest move of eBay as a foundation to know the customer. Initially, eBay is offering the feature called interests on Mobile App. It prepares a shopping experience considering your hobbies, passions, and style. Users need to download eBay’s Mobile App, install, register and Sign in so that eBay will take care of the rest to create a personalized experience.

The users need to click on “What are your interests?” then the App shows up 4 question themes together with interests to choose. It is necessary to click on the checkbox against each interest. For example, the customer can select the interested category like remote control toys, gadgets, and Smart Home, interested movie genres like comedies or horror flicks and favorite outdoor activities such as downhill skiing and hiking and other specific interests.
