Snap Inc (NYSE:SNAP) and SeatGeek have come together to ease the buying of concert tickets by sports teams and musicians. The integration means people can access more shows and concerts at their convenience. The New York-based ticket-search engine will be working through the Venice, California, company’s signature app. The suitability of the service was tested last month whereby it was found to be worth the trial. The testing involved the Los Angeles Football Club, a Major League, which became the first team to sell tickets through this integration.
The duo’s initiative comes at a time when the technology industry is demanding for innovation. According to Tom Penn, Los Angeles Football Club President and co-owner, innovation is what will bring the attraction to fans. It will also help in reaching out to fans and bring forth incredible opportunities to connect with other dedicated supporters.
The integration is the first ticket-buying experience in Snapchat
There is stiff competition between organizations, which own search – engines in seeking to gain more followers. Snapchat is one the very first ones rushing against time to secure the much it can in terms of the market share. Apparently, the integration is the first in e-commerce offerings and the buying of tickets will not require the buyer to leave the app.
SeatGeek co-founder Russ D’Souza says that his dream of having a SeatGeek Open platform has finally come to light. He added, “Teams should want to sell their tickets in as many places as possible” and that the platform will also support ticket sales through Facebook.
