Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) is reportedly testing encrypted message option amid the recent exposure of storing the passwords of the users in a plain text due to a big. The company is gearing up to address the privacy concerns of its valued users.
With the facility of direct sending of encrypted messages, only the intended recipient can see the messages. It prevents the role of an intermediate party. Therefore, the messages are secured and ensure the safety of the users.
It is evident from a recent detection of the new feature known as “Secret Conversation” in the APK of Android by Twitter. The credit goes to a computer science student Mr. Jane Manchun Wong. The unlaunched features are usually embedded in an APK for testing by the companies. The firms will usually introduce those features after completing the testing.
According to a recent chat on May 4, 2018, Twitter is reportedly developing End-to-End Encrypted Secret DM.
If it is introduced by Twitter, the users will be able to share private information just like the encrypted messaging apps such as Facebook, Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) owned WhatsApp, Telegram or Signal.
The content is scrambled in encrypted messages so that only the receiver and the sender can read the message. Absolutely, no role for third parties in encrypted messages.
